![]() We had some damage from that crazy windstorm two weeks ago. I happened to be finishing up my shift at the barn when the wind started, and it was quite intense. I had to try and get the big barn doors closed so they wouldn't get ripped off the buildings, and luckily I was able to do that. A few times I just stood there with my arms over my head while the tornado-like wind swirled around me. Dust everywhere! Debora drove in with a horse in the middle of all of this, and while she was unloading the horse it panicked and got free. Fortunately, the horse didn't go far. I was able to grab her rope and get her back to her pen with no trouble - what a good horse. Things were flying around, banging back and forth and sometimes it was impossible to see. The good news is that no animals were injured...whew! The other good news is that the horse shelters held up pretty darn well - thanks to Sherry's diligence in constructing them! A few shelters had bent legs but none came down or blew away. The next day a number of volunteers showed up and we got to work putting everything back together. By the end of the day it was almost all done. What a great group of folks: Sherry and Hank, Trudy, Mercedes, Clay and Elise. ![]() The other exciting news is that the groundwork has been done for the new indoor arena. We're looking for someone to put together the arena building, so if you know of someone, please contact Debora at 406-363-3346. This will be a great asset to the Equine Assisted Therapy programs!
